The experience of life on île Ré would not be complete if, during your campsite vacation on the island, you missed a visit to the market. It is here that you will get up close and personal with the local population and the authentic island life. The atmosphere of the markets on the île de Ré is unique, as are the good local products that can be found there.

You will undoubtedly be charmed by the colorful stalls and the kindness of the craftsmen and producers. Each village in Ré has its own market and each one has its own particularities and is worth the trip.
Le Bois-Plage has the most complete market on the île de Ré. We recommend that you bring the whole family to this fun activity on île de Ré.

The village of Ars-en-Ré has the most famous market in the area. The market of La Couarde is not to be outdone with its friendly atmosphere, and the small village of Loix allows you to shop in a much more peaceful and intimate atmosphere. In short, there is something for everyone!

For vacationers who like to have the option of shopping on the île de Ré every morning and all year round, you will find your happiness in these three villages: La Flotte-en-Ré, Rivedoux and Sainte-Marie-de-Ré.

Our campsite in La Flotte-en-Ré is ideally situated for this, as the other villages on the island only provide daily service during the high tourist season. In Ars-en-Ré, the stalls are open every day in summer, but only on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in autumn and during the Easter vacations.

In winter, you can enjoy local and seasonal products only on Tuesdays and Fridays. If you stay at Bois-Plage, the market is present every day from April to September.

As an island, it is normal that the sea holds an important place on île de Ré. It is without surprise, but with greed, that you will discover the stalls of any market of île de Ré giving pride of place to the local gastronomy.

Fish, shellfish, oysters, sea urchins, etc. will seem omnipresent. Don’t hesitate to ask our reception team for more information about the market days on the île de Ré.

It would be a shame to miss the opportunity to taste the best of the local products! Beyond the sea products, the market gardeners’ productions are also worth the detour. You will be delighted to be able to buy wines, salt, local cheeses of great quality, as well as organic fruits and vegetables.

And for the pleasure of strolling between the market stalls, you can buy various objects and souvenirs such as costume jewelry, beach items, clothing, decorative items, etc.
