It is here that you will get up close and personal with the local population and the authentic island life. The atmosphere of the markets on the île de Ré is unique, as are the good local products that can be found there.

You will undoubtedly be charmed by the colorful stalls and the kindness of the craftsmen and producers. Each village in Ré has its own market and each one has its own particularities and is worth the trip.
Le Bois-Plage has the most complete market on the île de Ré. We recommend that you bring the whole family to this fun activity on île de Ré. 

The village of Ars-en-Ré has the most famous market in the area. The market of La Couarde is not to be outdone with its friendly atmosphere, and the small village of Loix allows you to shop in a much more peaceful and intimate atmosphere. In short, there is something for everyone!

MARKET DAYS IN L’ÎLE DE RÉ :

For vacationers who like to have the option of shopping on the île de Ré every morning and all year round, you will find your happiness in these three villages: La Flotte-en-Ré, Rivedoux and Sainte-Marie-de-Ré.

Our campsite in La Flotte-en-Ré is ideally situated for this, as the other villages on the island only provide daily service during the high tourist season. In Ars-en-Ré, the stalls are open every day in summer, but only on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in autumn and during the Easter vacations.

In winter, you can enjoy local and seasonal products only on Tuesdays and Fridays. If you stay at Bois-Plage, the market is present every day from April to September.

Out of season, it opens only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and in the heart of winter, you can count on this appointment on Wednesdays or Saturdays. The market of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, remains closed for three weeks in January, but from mid-June to mid-September, it occupies the place every day. Outside these periods, it closes on Mondays.

At La Couarde-sur-Mer, the market receives onlookers every day from mid-June to mid-September. The rest of the year, it opens on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. In winter, it is only open on Wednesdays or Saturdays.

In the villages of Saint-Clément-des-Baleines and Rivedoux Plage, in July and August, the market day on the Ile de Ré is every day ! Out of season, they open only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The village market of Portes-en-Ré is open every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, from mid-June to mid-September. Outside of this period, you can go there on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Loix-en-Ré has a daily market from July to mid-September, and on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays during other periods.

You thus have several options to go to a market on île de Ré on Sunday, or any other day of the week. Moreover, in summer, some communes offer night markets on île de Ré. This is also what makes the reputation in July and August of La Flotte-en-Ré, the village where the campsite L’île Blanche is located!

It would be a shame to miss the opportunity to taste the best of the local products! Beyond the sea products, the market gardeners’ productions are also worth the detour. You will be delighted to be able to buy wines, salt, local cheeses of great quality, as well as organic fruits and vegetables.
